February 17, 2023A view I've taken is that there's a difference between occasionally putting non-monetary data on the blockchain and regularly putting non-monetary data on the blockchain. Both are a bad idea in general, but the former has two unique properties: (1) it is (probably) impossible to stop and (2) there are (probably) exceptions to the general rule. E.g. I personally don't mind someone uploading the bible, because there's a higher rule: exceptional things deserve exceptional treatment. And I think the bible is an exceptional thing. [...]

It’s cool to see how many interesting topics have already been discussed here.
You guys who have been around since the early days must come across plenty of “Oh shit, here we go again” moments—probably in a good way most of the time.
This itself is a recurring conversation.
There are so many new people and new developments that I'm usually happy to see interesting discussions come back up. The hope is that it will get easier to resurface older conversation, so these conversations feel more connected.
