In our ten years of marriage, my wife never asked me to read any Japanese novel. So when she was raving about the appeal of a book called 変な家 and recommending that I read it, I knew I had to pay attention.
The sequel to this book came out, and I made two trips to Kinokuniya to secure it. The first time was to indicate my interest; the second time was to collect it. This is effortful! I had to leave work earlier twice in order to bring this plan to fruition.
It cost a mere 30k sats, but I’m sure the amount of brownie points I scored with the wifey is immeasurable.
What Valentine’s Day gift did you get your partner?
My wife and I don't exchange gifts on valentines day. We usually do something nice together though, like go out to eat.
What cuisine did you indulge in this year?
We like a place called Cafe Hollander for brunch. She got the cinnamon streusel French toast, and I got a creole omelet.
Brunch is good. Cheaper than fine-dining dinner haha
