There was once one of these roaming around in the neighborhood. My daughter looked out the window and started screaming, "Daddy, Daddy! There's a cow in the garden!
We had a saint bernard in the neighborhood. It was almost impossible to cross him without listening his growls but he was very adorable, quite friendly with the kids, never ever bit anyone. This dog is strong but I think ts not as dangerous as rotwillers and bullies.

I think it's not always accurate to stereotype breeds. As a kid we had a neighbor that had a Saint Bernard that bit a child and had to be put down. I felt terrible. I used to play with that dog for hours without any issues. I really think it's more about the owners than the dogs. All of my dogs over the past 30 years have been bull breeds except one, which was a little Norfolk Terrier. The ONLY dog who ever showed any aggression was the Norfolk Terrier. I have owned bulldogs, American bulldogs, and a Staffy Bull Terrier, all of whom were reliable, safe, and great with kids.
I've seen studies where pits rank very highly in not getting agitated with kids. I think the issue is usually more that they can be very protective of their kids towards other dogs.
Love it. Years ago when I had a cat and I took her to the vet someone brought a St Bernard in and it came over and sniffed my cat’s carrier. I will never forget the look on my cat’s face. It’s almost as if she was thinking “what the hell is that thing”.

My mom, who is a tiny woman, had a Saint Bernard when she lived in NYC. She has so many hilarious stories of misadventures with that giant dog.
Where is the barrel around his neck? Also this is the breed of Beethoven?
Yep.
Wow, this is the best kind of dog !
