A while back old Garry popped up in the algo and I even made a post about him here #846471
Now logically, you might say, why would you read his book, isn’t just a socialist or something else.
Well I never watched much of his stuff and I just thought he was some guy who studied economics and university and became a youtuber, but I was wrong.
Garry is a man who came up from poverty but who was just very good at maths, which led him to LSE where he managed to win an internship at Citibank and in a short time became one of their best FX traders.
This immediately sets him apart from the usual economists that live in a university bubble or media bubble (Paul dickhead Krugman for example), because Garry had skin in the game and put his theory to the test against the markets.
Now, Garry doesn’t understand bitcoin and uses the intrinsic value fallacy, but the book is not about his theories, it’s just about his journey to the top as a young man, how he ultimately became jaded and ended up having a mental breakdown in Japan and Citibank wouldn’t let him quit while still taking his multi-million bonus.
Apparently, a film adaptation is in the works, his story isn't wild like the Wolf of Wall Street or anything though.
So yeah, I actually really enjoyed this book, read it in like 3 days, and it’s interesting to me a low-income normie to get a glimpse into the madness of these traders and alike.
