Where I'm from there are many ancient ruins from more than 1000 years ago in the forrest and no one cares about it. They are covered by forrest floor and hard to spot, but there are many building foundations, "hallways", etc. The forrest floor has "holes" that make no geological sense. People just go pick mushrooms around that area, but even with a little digging you can find old artifacts.
