I was reading the docket for NTEU v. Vought (25-cv-00381) and came across this filing from today: Second Declaration of Erie Meyer, which is talking about the impact of deleting CFPB databases, in particular:
3 . I am preparing this declaration to ensure that the Court is aware of the imminent risk that twelve years’ of critical CFPB records, which belong to the public, will be irretrievably lost and cause serious and sweeping damage unless the Court takes action to preserve the status quo in the face of efforts to dismantle the CFPB. [..] 6 . Public reporting and reports that I have received from within the Bureau reliably indicate that databases holding the CFPB’s data will soon be deleted.
This all sounds almost too crazy to be true so I'd like to find out, but I was unable to find any reputable publication reporting the deletion of databases.
Has anyone seen any online sources to where this could be coming from?
I still haven't found any of the alleged public reporting that it was imminent, but the DC judge entertained it and ordered no deletions of records
