L0la is shitting on Yanis Varoufakis (the former Greece finance minister, most known for shitting on capitalism), who ostensibly read the FT feature on bitcoin this week (#883541).
That's nice. Yanis should read that.
...unfortunately, and for pretty standard left-wing reasons, it isn't receptive to it. Oddly, one would think, given the ways we can spin bitcoin for good, lefty ideals (Jason Maier, Troy Cross etc).
So L0la tells him off for it. And gooood:
I wonder if @ yanisvaroufakis knows how many of us agree with him on this ā and, ironically, how much of it is the fault of people like Yanis, who consistently chose to attack the only global, stateless money in the world, instead of seeing it as a more equitable alternative for the millions excluded from and discriminated against in the current financial system
And this: "A strategic reserve does not make bitcoin useful. Institutional adoption does not make bitcoin useful. What makes bitcoin useful is using it, and by literal design: the more you participate in the network, the more influence you have."
and definitely this:
Knee-jerk hatred/opposition to all things bitcoin will be the greatest (of many) errors the left ever made.
