Great question. IMO they are clueless. We know that many people just vote for the R or the D. I'm sure he's had his district written to make him a perma politician as most at his level have.
Voters will likely tell you he brings federal money into the state. I'm sure he does as I lived there for some time. The system is broken. Voters claim they want less gov spending but usually that just means things they don't like. They WANT spending on stuff they do like. So you end up with the system we have. Massive spending with very little accountability.
