Rene is constantly working on open source projects, research on the Lightning Network and mentoring Lightning related projects during the Summer of Bitcoin. In April this year he received a grant from the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) to continue research on feature engineering to produce a better cost function for the routing problem.

They talk about how to optimize for reliability with the probabilistic model of Pickhardt Payments, the role of liquidity, routing strategies and depleted channels!
