There are 3 phases of the Bolshevik revolution:

phase 1: 1917 February revolution which occurred in March (Russia used the outdated Julian calendar)

phase 2: 1917 October revolution which occurred in November

phase 3: civil war, Reds vs Whites, 1917 - 22

Outside of Russia, the first World War was stuck in a stalemate then breakthru after USA sent troops in 1917.

Germany surrendered on Nov 11, 1918

Treaty of Versailles negotiations lasted thru 1920.
