According to a recent YouGov/Economist poll, only 30 percent of Americans said that the actual game was their favorite thing about the Super Bowl. Meanwhile 26 percent of respondents said they enjoyed the commercials the most and 18 percent were most excited about the halftime show, featuring rapper Kendrick Lamar, who is having quite a week after winning five Grammys last Sunday.

No, it's the other way. NBA ratings are much lower than NFL, because lots of people follow basketball without watching the games. They catch highlights on YouTube or X, etc.

ah ok! I understand what you're saying. I took it to mean that those who watch may only see one game or another from time to time, but those who follow are interested in other things as well as watching. Like following transfers, etc!

Super Bowl is an event more than a game. Many people only watch one NFL game a year and that's the Super Bowl.
