When US president Donald Trump launched his own cryptocurrency, he sparked a trading frenzy. A constellation of little-known crypto platforms quietly profited. It was the early hours of January 18, two days before Donald Trump was set to return to the White House. Tom had just slumped into bed when his phone lit up with a message from an old friend: Had he seen? Trump just launched his own cryptocurrency.Tom leaped to his desk, opened his laptop, and flicked on two additional monitors. “It didn’t feel real,” he says. “I was trying to wrap my head around what had happened.”Tom leads Raydium, a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency exchange registered in the British Virgin Islands that lets people trade between coins without dealing with an intermediary. Like the rest of the Raydium staff, Tom keeps his full name and whereabouts a secret, citing privacy reasons and the threat posed by regulators.

I know one personally! A work colleague. I cracked up laughing when he told me he'd bought it. I've been telling him to cut the shitcoinerie for a while now ... and you don't know the best part! He bought it at the beginning of the fall and after two days he came to ask if what he'd bought was the real TRUMP, and I taught him how to confirm it. He was reassured and after 3 days he sold with a big loss. Shitcoiners being shitcoiners! Ahahah

Dude.... like, I just want to know what is their reasoning. I guess they know it's crap, but they're hoping they can dump it on someone else? And everyone's just playing that game of musical chairs?

I'm sure that's the easy profit he was looking for. There is one good thing in all this, he swap TRUMP for bitcoin. I'm not sure he's learned his lesson!

This is the same over and over again. I don't think it will ever stop until people learn and then it won't stop it will just decrease. Just as casinos will never stop. As long as there are some "winners" it pulls in the people that want to get rich quick and easy.
It is what it is. What is sad is when people don't get what it is and think bitcoin is the same thing... That's what I fight constantly in my circle. The people that would never buy a shitcoin but also won't buy bitcoin because they see them as the same... and the people that buy shitcoins because of their greed and won't buy bitcoin because they wanna get rich quick...
Its something to behold really.
I always ask for rational and its always the same... I can make a lot of dollars or XRP is gonna be used by the banks... that's my favorite one.
