Very much so in the early conquests but they got quite sophisticated over the century plus of the mongol empire.
I highly recommend Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World by Jack Weatherford if you are interested in the story of the Mongol Empire.

This is one of my favourite books. I listened to the audiobook of this one to be quite frank. I used to listen to books a lot when I had my business because I travelled in the work van from site to site pretty much all day. So books and podcasts were my thing.

Yup, that's pretty much my life. I just listen to whatever is interesting. I'm never really tied to a genre, I figure good is good whatever it is.
