I had jury service this week, until yesterday. Looking from within at how the judicial system works made me appreciate my host country even more. Being confronted with people who had allegedly committed awful crimes reminded me that the actions we take have consequences, good or bad. They have a life changing potential, for the victims and perpetrators, especially the younger ones with all their life in front of them. Amen!
I just wanted to get that off my chest. Now, to the actual topic of this post.
I hate going to the gym, I find it a waste of time, so I exercise at home. I'm okay fit, I've always been generally healthy, but I've already reached that age where you cannot take health for granted anymore. My challenge has always been to commit to a regular physical practice, but now I think I've found the solution: ”The Five Tibetan Rites“. It doesn't take too long, 10 to max 15 minutes, and it's not too physically demanding — I just repeat each exercises until the count of 21, or until I'm tired, I don't force myself. This is key.
The exercise is great for posture, lower back stability, opening up the shoulders, and identifying and releasing tensions in the body (in my case, predominantly the diaphragm). When practiced daily, it's life changing. I've been doing it for 4-5 months now, and for the first time in 20+ years, I've developed a six pack again, lol.
