Big one in this release is email login on iOS PWA. Apple notoriously hamstrings PWAs such that magic links are unable to target PWAs. This fix replaces the magic link with a one time password that will work on any device. via @sox
@jsonbits made some accessibility improvements to the price carousel in the header. This is hopefully the beginning of many such accessibility improvements.
Relatively lame things:
  • top boosts (top of homepage/territory posts) now get a badge and clicking on it explains how boost works
  • there was bug where comments paid for non-custodially would display the relative time without a time zone and appear older/newer than they should
  • I've adjusted some of the conservative invoice expiration limits for zaps (thanks to @kilianbuhn for bringing this to my attention)
We've mostly been pushing bug fixes without release announcements lately but you should start to see more tangible releases soon.

We have some merged PRs that haven't been paid yet. I'll get those done when I can.
Since starting the Open Source Contributor Award Rules (OSCARs), we've paid a total of 14.6m sats to 39 contributors for 174 contributions! View a nearly up to date list of contribution awards here: https://github.com/stackernews/stacker.news/blob/master/awards.csv

For pending stuff:
  • Automatic retries for failed payments will probably get shipped this week via @ek
  • @sox has a pr for referral origins up that I haven't looked at yet
  • @sox also has a pr up for notification filters and configurable territory comment fees
Internally exciting: refactoring our paid action core (the pluggable thing that all paid actions use), improving wallet attaching, improving visibility of stackers' wallet statuses, bolt12 and other wallet support.
Externally exciting: anything growth related, territory crossposting, better profile pages.
We spent the last few weeks in a feature/enhancement freeze to prioritize bugs. I'm just happy to be moving beyond that.

configurable territory comment fees
Awesome!
I'm also excited to see the implementation of crossposting. No doubt, I'm going to provide a lot of feedback on that feature.

I thought your idea of inversely proportional fee revenue was cool: #706642

I was a bit hesitant to ship comment fees because I'm fairly certain they'll be confusing. I anticipate a lot of "why is my comment 30 sats all of a sudden?" from existing stackers, then new stackers will be confused but not say anything.
We'll ship it anyway, but I'm afraid of fee overload.

Hey I didn't forget about my promise on crossposting :P I put it aside to focus on really high priority stuff, you'll see updates on it soon™.

stackers have outlawed this. turn on wild west mode in your /settings to see outlawed content.
