Hopefully this isn’t a dupe

But proof of how inefficient government programs/systems are broken and continue to operate when it makes zero economic cents 😆

Stores don't even accept change anymore. Why are they still minting any of these?

reply

Really? I've not run into that yet other than the fast food restaurants that don't take cash at all. It must be the type of places I go or something.

reply

I noticed it during the pandemic. Grocery stores stopped giving change (maybe they did accept it still).

The general issue is places not accepting cash at all.

reply

Which is terrible! Cash is king for privacy

reply

Ah, okay. It definitely must be a regional thing then, I pay cash a lot and haven't run into that yet. A lot of places around definitely do prefer cards though.

reply

Great question. It probably takes an act of Congress to stop the minting of Pennies

reply

We haven't had pennies in Canada for quite awhile now.

reply

Yup lol smart! Inflation has destroyed the use of the penny and nickel

reply

My grandpa would say that Pennie’s were so useless they might as well be printed on plastic

reply

But a penny earned is a penny saved before the government ruined money

reply

What a clown world! Such idiots! The system is SO broken!

reply

Isn't the cash value of the metal in a penny more valuable than a penny? Like if I melted pennies down they would become more valuable.

reply

Okay so saving some millions of dollars? Lol okay, some big savings there... (Eyeroll)

reply

I think your arithmetic is wrong

the point it's a wasteful activity that should end

reply

Clipping toenails to lose weight.

Just the interest on the debt is nearly a TRILLION dollars annually.

reply

do you no longer clip your toe nails? same can be said for finger nails
