When you think about it, not in principle dissimilar to how the Romans made money defeating other nations in war (and, hence, started running out of money the moment they stopped expanding their borders).

Yes, the American empire, as empires before it, are modeled on Rome. Roman fascist ideals are enshrined in the foundational symbols of the American state: a blatent example is the fasces symbol on the American dime (10 cents). It's no coincidence the pillared design of government and bank buildings look just like Roman buildings.
