I don't have a real point to this, I just spend a lot of time driving around and thinking about things so I thought I'd share.
Although I haven't been a member of this community for that long, it has very quickly become the platform I use the most, by a very large margin. The pay to post nature of SN forces you to consider what you're doing instead of just vomiting out nonsense. Or, at least consider whether or not the nonsense will be entertaining.
My enjoyment of this platform has made me consider it's long term growth. I don't have any suggestions, or speculations, and I'm not very technical or business savvy. So I just started looking at SN as an online property that I want to increase the value of.
The only way I know how to increase property value is with investing, effort, and/or money. That's why I decided to make my own little garden (territory).
I'm sure nobody would complain if they could sell their vegetables at a profit, but that's not why they do it. It's a fun and rewarding hobby that has the added benefit of adding value to your property if it's nice enough.
Even though my territory isn't "profitable" it's created a lot of fun conversations and is very high among the top territories for comments. So, regardless of it's profitability, I'm going to keep puttering around in my garden for the foreseeable future. I enjoy it, and who knows, if i tend my garden properly, maybe I'll even be able to sell my vegetables at a farmers market in the future.
this territory is moderated
ask SN is a very important territory IMO because, honestly, sometimes a question or discussion either doesn't fit a territory or the territory it would fit (like history) is dead/unmaintained

I've probably gotten to know people way better on AskSN than any other territory so far. I like it's versatility

Hey you posted!
For sure. We all need a sanctuary that we can call our own. That’s how I feel about my blog.
Does your job take you all over the state?
Keep at it!

I'm in Wisconsin, I drive out of the Milwaukee area and spend most of my day up around West Bend and the surrounding area.

You are doing a great job with the territory.

It's been a really fun experience so far. Kind of neat to see what different people are interested in. Some people like silly questions, others like serious ones.

What kind of drives do you go on?
