Looks like around 100 stackers over the last month which is ~10%. Sharpest decline since March/April after we stopped working on growth (posting on socials/reminding people we exist).
Is that more or less what you were expecting? Or had no expectations? It could have been worse considering how many posts and comments there was around it
I suspected it'd cause a loss of stackers. I'm also not sure we lost many "good ones" in the end.
We don't propagandize you all like other places tend to. You all can make up your mind for yourselves. We tend to lose the screechers and ones that don't have much of a mind of their own. (At least that's my optimistic take ... We need to start working on growth again regardless.)
When NBC moved Seinfeld to Thu after Cheers, Larry David said: if people are not watching the show on Wed night, I don't want the same people watching the show on Thu night.
Much thanks for allowing territory payments with cowboy credits
I have converted a couple from reddit as well. Some on there are on the level and obviously like a forum type vibe so getting sats for what they are doing anyway win win
Don't worry... SN is preparing an army of bots "stackers" that will act as users posting infinite shitGPT text and talk to each others.
You will not even notice them hahahahahaha
Personally, it feels like there are fewer "XXX's bio" posts on https://stacker.news/recent, which probably means fewer new users are joining. But hey, I bet k00b has the real stats to back this up.
Also, about CC—just my two sats: it seems to have a bigger impact on new users and not so much on the active crowd. But here’s the thing—active users are the loud minority, while new users are underrepresented.
