The Balta Bridge or Iron Bridge
is a bridge over the Rímac River located in Lima (Peru).
It is the first iron bridge built in the capital and connects Avenida Nueve de Octubre, in the Rímac district, with Jirón Amazonas, in the Cercado de Lima.
Its construction began in 1869, under the government of José Balta, and was completed in 1919.
The train tracks that pass under the Balta Bridge are still functional.
A train with 6 to 8 cars passes by twice a day and is used by the municipality or mayor's office of Lima.

Can you imagine a train in South America that connects all the countries, just like in Europe, where you can go by train from one place to another?
Thanks for sharing, it's amazing to see that these tracks are still working in the chaos of the capital Lima, packed with vehicles and full of traffic on every corner.

It would be fantastic to go from the cold of Santiago de Chile 🚂.. directly by train to Cartagena de Indias in Colombia and enjoy the sun 😎..
