Would someone mind explaining why a person would be using a "Federated Lightning Address Server"?
Because they don’t want to run their own or purchase a domain.

why would someone have their own node, but not have their own version of this? seems odd to self host one but not the other
if you run tor only node you might not want to expose yourself with running something on clearnet, also there are other options of connecting this to lnbits, lnpay etc which dont need to be run by the user themselves
there were some issues with tor backends, should be fixed now
if there will be enough interest in this we'll add more domains down the road
