pull down to refresh

My friend recently published her collection of reflective essays titled Zen Musings from a Fly on the Wall. She asked me to host her online book launch, and I was glad to oblige.
Although I wasn’t the star of the show, I still felt anxious in the minutes leading up to the book launch. I think the challenge of being a Zoom host lay in the fact that I had to be the glue that coordinated everything - without taking too much time. To give interesting soundbites that consolidated what my friend said before switching direction to the next segment. It was the kind of nervousness that prevented me from doing much else; yet, I found it hard to sit down and gather my thoughts together.
Until 10 minutes before the event when the sense of urgency overwhelmed everything else, causing me to start writing furiously. These are my notes:
  • She is a multi-hypenate. She not only works closely with dyslexic students, but is also a musical storyteller.
  • I found the way she changed her relationship with time to be very interesting, so I will leave it to her to tell you more.
  • She finds the magic in everyday life and magnifies the moment.
  • She is not afraid to be bored. Only when she creates a vacuum, a void inside her can she invite the Universe into her soul.
  • We would like you to give yourself a pat on the shoulder. You have taken a step to live life slowly by joining us for this lunchtime launch.
There were a couple of other things that I said on the spur of the moment, but I can’t remember those sparks of brilliance now. Anyway, I must have done okay because I received an unsolicited compliment from an attendee haha.
send her some sats from us, will yah!
Congrats and the achievement :)

I really congratulate you, very few friends encourage or support you in your literary projects, you really are a great person, books and literature always take us to different worlds beyond who the writer is, the important thing is what he wants to convey and what he makes people feel when they read it.
