Preparing an opinion matching exercise for my students. Let me test it out with you guys before I print it out for them haha.
Read the opinions of the three teenagers below.
Person A
I thought being a teenager would bring me more freedom at first. But my parents absolutely refuse to let go and empower me. They complain that I am immature and keep lecturing me to do things their way. It’s so irritating! Honestly, sometimes I feel like a caged bird because they don't trust me enough to make my own decisions.
Person B
I had some arguments with my parents in the past. I didn't like the way they dismissed my feelings impatiently. However, when I told them my frustrations, they said sorry to me and promised to do better. Being a teenager is hard, but I know my parents have my back and will listen to my problems.
Person C
I think I am blessed to have understanding parents. I have never quarrelled with them! Instead of forcing their expectations on me, they take the time to describe their thoughts and feelings. This helps me understand where they are coming from. I always confide in them because I trust that they will help me navigate these challenging teenage years.
