I think it is a significant part because @Undisciplined and I are so active on SN and it really was the first territory besides the SN native ones (bitcoin, meta, tech). On one of the podcast episodes I compared it to a dive bar. We have a group of regulars and then we get a lot of people popping in and out for contests/events etc. Sports and pools/contests go hand in hand and giving people a chance to win sats is always popular.
