The American Airlines flight traveling from Wichita, Kan., collided with the military chopper while approaching Runaway 33 at the Washington airport around 9 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

What were the cops doing in the airport flight pattern. Did the air traffic controllers f*ck up or did the cops just ignore them? WTF happened? Mid-air collisions are very, very rare and when they happen are usually due to some kind of human error.
Oh, they were a military helicopter? Well, just substrate in military pilot for cops where ever you see it.
