It’s the second day of Chinese New Year. Arguably the most cherished Chinese tradition in my part of the world.
Thanks to my children who have apparently danced to this song at their preschool, I have been listening to it non-stop these two days.
The singer-composer is a Malaysian. And it’s just touching how many Malaysian schools from different states were all hands on deck and contributed to the production of this music video. I doubt this would happen in Singapore because we focus a lot on academics.
Anyway, this song is called 有舍必有得 (you she bu you de). It means: when you lose something, you will definitely gain other things in return. 舍 sounds similar to 蛇🐍, which refers to 2025 being the Year of the Snake!
