I made a post asking how to sell BTC in nyc. I tried a few methods, but the most interesting was "go to pubkey and try finding someone to make a transaction with." Here is my experience.

Funny how it can be at $100k and this story still reads like the old days, when you'd have to send moneygrams to CVS or whatever that was.
I'm in NYC. Is it even worth it to trade for Bitcoin in person? I can start doing low value trades if it's worth it monetarily? Literally take your bitcoin walk to the bank and withdraw money for 15% why would you goto me over an Bitcoin ATM? What is the common BTC ATM fee? I will seriously do this if someone can convince me. I don't have any money so I'd have to start under $500.
I have one of my photography publication books at PubKey. Would love to go one day. I got to meet TheDaniel though, very nice guy.
If only you were in India, I can easily help you with such a trade.

you would receive cash in mail.
As I would be initiating the trade, I would mail the cash to you first, as a gesture of good faith. As I would be initiating the trade, I would mail the cash to you first, as a gesture of good faith.
Let's say we started with $100Let's say we started with $100
Would anyone theoretically be interested in transacting with me? #asknostr.
(In hindsight the seller would doxx their address unless one can obtain a po box address? Is that a thing or just in the movies?)(In hindsight the seller would doxx their address unless one can obtain a po box address? Is that a thing or just in the movies?)

Use Bisq for this as they have an escrow system and the deposit is quite large so the buyer and seller stand to lose a lot if they misbehave. Plus there is a reputation system.Use Bisq for this as they have an escrow system and the deposit is quite large so the buyer and seller stand to lose a lot if they misbehave. NO! I don't want to use sketchy escrow sites!!NO! I don't want to use sketchy escrow sites!!
Thank-you, for your blog I'm in complete agreement with you, I just want to find a good old p2p swap!
Insightful.
That's a subjective observation. There must be a dime to be made offering some kind of walk in cashfor x that's not just stolen shit and gold rounds.
When you forward, I can't zap you and we all get CCs instead of sats.
Damn sorry, didn't know that's how it works
All good. We need to add little hints about all this stuff.
just wondering, is there a technical reason for doing things this way?
lol you rug pull yourself

I don't want to download an app (besides my wallet)
But realistically, a bitcoin atm is the most convenient method to exchange bitcoin for cash in nyc. The fees are high, and I would rather talk to a human, so I didn't do it this way.
Trump blew the spot up
