What Is This?What Is This?

This is a recurring post inspired by discussions had by @Undisciplined, @elvismercury and others regarding evergreen content on SN. I’ll dig back into the past to try to locate some great posts that might be worth another read. I plan to release a new Golden Oldies every Tuesday.

Here are this week’s selections:

This is a short but important post by @jimmysong, a genuine OG and a well known bitcoin writer. The real gold here is the discussion, which is a reminder for some and a lesson for noobs who are still working through the issue.

We all know him as the founder of the most successful territory on SN (~Stacker_Sports), but @grayruby won the Books And Articles Writing Contest with his bitcoin story. You can “nice try, fed” me all you want, but I love hearing how stackers discovered bitcoin. It’s a long read, but worth your time.

Shameless plug- If @grayruby inspires you, post your own story in the ~BooksAndArticles territory

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Didn't @grayruby write it like a professional story writer? Whenever I read other than sports stuff from him, I always feel that he must be a great writer.

I spent 8 hours writing that Bitcoin story. Siggy gave me a lot of homework.

reply

It's worth every moment. It's one of the greatest pieces ever published on SN.

So, you're accepting it that you're a professional writer. I also wrote my story, not as long, but it took me around 2 hours. (Consider I'm not native).

reply

I am not a professional writer by any stretch of the imagination. I did take a creative writing course in college. That was a long time ago though.

reply

Well, I want you to know that I rank you very highly when you write stories or in similar way.

reply

Thank you.

reply

Yes he did!

Once a year I say something clever. I guess I am due since we are coming up on almost a year since that post.

Thanks Siggy. I really hope some other stackers will share their bitcoin stories as well. It is always fun to read.
