pull down to refresh

After a week of raining, in the the first sunny day, i went in the woods for a walk. I was at the top of the hill, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. I decided to follow a boar’s path that was going down the slope where, at the bottom, there was a ravine. I was near a ditch when i saw the earth spit out water all around me.
I arrived at the edge of the ditch, and climbed myself in. In it there was water, going down to the ravine.
I followed the stream and then, from another ditch on the left, near a rock, the water came in red.
The red is the iron that the rock release with the help of the water. I kept going down and finally i arrived at the ravine. In there, there was a red river.
The earth was pouring out water. The mud was wet and red.
The colors are beautiful.
A little loop over the red river.
I’ve followed the stream and found myself near the main road. I turned to the wood and took a path to the top of the hill. Near the top i found a hole in a rock and red water that came out.
This is a land where in the past century there was an intense mining activity. The last mine closed in the 1990, not so long ago. But the old man, the vey old, remember this creek clean, the red came with the mine. But there is a beauty to see the water flush out red from the earth and the rocks, an intense red, it’s exiting.

Fantastic... for a moment I could feel the humidity of the environment while reading your words, thank you 🫂 for sharing.
When I was a child I used to travel a lot to places like this, with streams, wetlands, forests, mosquitoes, rain, birdsong, in other words, a lot of nature.
Now I live immersed in the jungle, but the one made of concrete and cars. 🏙️
