  • "Do you want an egg today or an hen tomorrow?"
  • "obviously an hen tomorrow, I'm a bitcoiner!"
But it's not so simple. It's 2025, the price of bitcoin recently surpassed 100k $ for a coin; the shitcoin president has been elected and seems he want promote more "crypto, bitcoin and all the stuffs you are playing with". He also has done some legit good thing like liberate an hero like Ross, and you are very happy about that.
You are not so hooked with the news. Stock investors go crazy. Shitcoiners go crazy. But, if there is something bitcoiners and normies have in common, is that they dont give a fuck about what's written on the Financial Times frontpage today.
Normies don't know basically nothing about that shit, except if their preferred chinese social media risk to be banned.
Bitcoiners don't know basically nothing about that shit, except they know bitcoin... Or better, they are living the continous and eternal process of trying to understand bitcoin, in all its dinamics and implications.
They mostly know what is a fair price for a bitcoin denominated in dollars: infinite dollars. Life is really easy, either for normies and for bitcoiners; slow mornings, low-stress and good relationship will come in their life, except normies version of that epilogue is sedated in a pod in a semi-coscient state.
But a similar future is not the only thing bitcoiners and normies have in common: talking about the present, they seems to live a similar life, except the bitcoiner one seems a bit less funny. Bitcoiners tend to buy less expesive things, but they tend to work for the same hours or even more.
Whats the catch here!? Rember, you are a bitcoiner so you have low-time-preferencies: today its time to work hard cause you know a good form of storage of all your fatigues that will make you wealthy in the long run retiring your bloodline and so on...
But what about your job? Do you like it? Do you choose it cause it pays a lot, or because you actually like to do it? Whats the impact on other people you are driving doing it? If you'd die tomorrow, would you feel okay with all the time you dedicated to it?
Do you have some hobbies? Well, at least you are bitcoiner, so absolutely yes! What about coltivate your hobbies and dreams, and maybe study seriously to become good enough in your stuffs to be payid, even more than your fiat-job for do something you like and add value to the world the way you see it?
This would be a great path but... does it would be a low-time-preference choice or the opposite? Is continue the to mine in the fiat mining the most low low-time-preference thing? But you do it cause you want more money now despite you hate it, so it's super high-time...
Time is the key, my friend bitcoiner. Because there is something more scarce then bitcoin. Its absurd, I know, I don't make the rules. Time on this earth is the scarcest asset. And it's even pretty volatile.
So do you intend abandon the fiat-mining at some point? When exactly? Would it be too late? Would the bitcoin accumulated pay enough for the time you lost?
Because here's the paradox; the real answer you gave to the starting question was:
  • "I'm a bitcoiner, a low-time-preferencies individual, and I choose the egg today to sell for bitcoin at today's market price".
