African Bitcoiners has a vision to bring freedom to Africans through Bitcoin. Africa needs Bitcoin more than any other continent in the world because our governments are corrupt and as a result, our money is completely broken. Because of this over 70% of Africans are poor and can't afford education or healthcare. We believe that Bitcoin adoption in Africa is the only way Africans can step into financial security, independence and financial equality in line with the rest of the world.
Our mission is to drive Bitcoin adoption in Africa through education about this incredible financial innovation. As a first step towards driving Bitcoin education in Africa, we have launched an easy 21-day "Bitcoin for Beginners" course delivered via email (and soon via other channels as well). Furthermore, as an encouragement, those who complete the course and pass the final test will be rewarded with 10 000 sats to help begin their Bitcoin savings journey.
We carefully thought about the most vital information every African should know about Bitcoin and simplified this into quick non-technical daily lessons that anyone can understand and digest in less than 15 minutes each day. By the end of our course, a Bitcoin novice will understand the fundamentals of this sound money and how it works, they will be able to set up a lightning wallet and most importantly will understand to how to embrace complete financial self-sovereignty by holding Bitcoin private keys securely.
You can also play a role in helping our education mission. For only 10 000 sats we can teach an African about Bitcoin and put them on a path to savings. Currently, all the funds to support this initiative have been raised through our little lightning node, Africa Free Routing (@FreeRoutingAf), but we are also looking for donations from Bitcoiners who want to support this vital education drive.
Please check out our course at https://bitcoiners.africa/free-bitcoin-course/ and become a donor by visiting https://bitcoiners.africa/donate/. We are grateful for all donations big or small, every bit helps.
Are you worried about bots being built and/or users registering multiple accounts to mine the 10,000 sats?

No we currently are not but we hope the community will respect what we are trying to do and not abuse us. We will have to take measures if they situation arises.

Great initiative!
I am by no means an expert within this area but are you doing anything in the field to teach people on how to use Bitcoin, or will they have to know your website in order to learn?
I would imagine actually meeting people face to face and explaining them why they need such a solution would be a lot more efficient rather than expecting them to go to a website and learn about the stuff - that is of cause if they are aware of the website.
The best of luck with the initiative. I hope you will succeed and be a contributor to get Africans out of poverty!

We will do whatever we can but we can’t so fast to face for cost and privacy reasons so we will give whatever support we can to those doing that important work.

Do you have boots on the ground or are you located outside of Africa?
reply
Everyone in our team is African and resides somewhere within the continent. We are strictly remote at the moment due to the hostility most African governments have shown towards Bitcoin. We hope to have a place in every nation in Africa in the near future where we can educate people about Bitcoin.

Great work!!! In Africa there are more projects going on, for example, in this site you can get info about Bitcoin in many languages: https://exonumia.africa/ Also, these two accounts are doing a lot of work on the ground, so maybe you can organise an event with one of them. https://twitter.com/RunwithBitcoin https://twitter.com/AnitaPosch
Good luck with the BTC adoption
