We have a water softener that does some filtration, but we still don't drink our tap water.
For drinking water, we have jugs of purified water delivered. It's about the same price as water filters, but we know that we'd be really forgetful about changing the filters.

How much is it to get purified water delivered? The system I bought was $300 up front cost and to replace filters is $80 which gets me 2000 gallons.

I've already forgotten how much it costs. I just remember doing the comparison before we got it, because we were looking into filtration options, too.
It's definitely cheaper, in the long run, to go with the home filtration system.
