We may have gotten a bit off track. Just trying to generate from revenue for @Public_N_M_E

In this case, sort of. My grandpa left a Dire Straights tape in the car he sold me.
I did used to be on the radio remember. I've listened to music intentionally and even made others listen to it, too.

That's impressive. I don't know that I ever owned a car with a cassette tape player. Definitely my parents car that I drove as a teen after getting my license had a cassette player but pretty sure the first car I bought had a CD player only. Maybe both. Hard to remember.

I think Americans buy their first car much younger than Canadians. It isn't really a rite of passage to buy your own car here. Some rich kids get gifted cars but mostly kids just use their parents cars until they move out or finish school and have a full time job. It is also not that common for people to go away to college especially if they live in or near large metros.

Most of "my cars" were really my parents'.

Same. My parents had 2 cars at one point and my dad used to take transit to work because it costed too much to park in downtown Toronto so I remember using the second car almost exclusively to go to college, the gym, hang out with friends etc but it wasn't my car. The first car I owned was after I finished school and was working full time.
Yikes, that is back in the day.

😱😱 kids these days. Fairly sure my first ever car has a cassette player.

You were just much cooler than me riding around in your own car while I was driving my mom's car. Haha.

Haha! My folks refused to buy me a car (fair play to them) they told me it was my problem and if I wanted one I'd have to source it, buy it, run it, maintain it etc. I learnt a lot of responsibility very quickly.
They wouldn't let me drive theirs either, if I wanted a car I had to go and sort that myself.

Nothing wrong with that. Walk or figure it out for yourself.
