These pardons are getting a little ridiculous. As always, the internet stands ready with memes:
Anyway:
His Administration became the first in history to unleash the Justice Department on a former President and political rival. As we and others warned, the precedent would tempt future Presidents to do the same, perhaps as early as Mr. Biden’s immediate successor.
As he did with Hunter, he gave his family clemency for unspecified acts since Jan. 1, 2014. This timing is important because a House investigation alleges that Biden family members received money from foreign sources through shadow accounts. The pardons are an** ignominious final act by a President who has never lived up to his self-advertising as a protector of democratic norms.**
...and the NYT, larping it up. What a joke of an outlet: Yes, yes yes, Demented Joe (sorry, "Corpse President")) also did some last-minute pardons "making a mockery of the justice system," but but but noooo buhu, says the libs: "what Mr. Trump did Monday is of an entirely different scope."
Ah, blow me.
Truly. It was all a psy-op. Every president is the worst president ever, but really-- this guy?
Absolutely pathetic.
God, I'm glad I'm not American.

Nah, I'm proud to be an American. Separation of Nation and state. Sure the a large number of the population believes in the state, but that is true of most nations.
  • Country = the land
  • State = the government
  • Nation = the people
reply
dude, I love you for saying that.
I think about this separation a lot. Love the nature (land) I'm in, lukewarm on the culture/people/history, fucking hate the bureaucratic/political arrangement/oke I'm under

Relationships and community are vital. If I were to only have community and quality relationships with people that saw the world like me then I wouldn't be alone but I'd be much more vulnerable.
Many years ago I realized that I'd been under a psyop by entire life. The only reason I learned this was because of how I'm wired. Same reason I found bitcoin. Curiosity. Not being afraid to disagree with literally everyone around me because I think they are missing something. Most people aren't wired that way. It doesn't make them less than me. It makes them different.
I believe in building bridges. I don't mean online but in person with relationships. I have found more like-minded people and watched more people one their minds in the past 5 years than at any period in my life. There are way too many doomers in bitcoin.
The US government is going to fail. I don't believe the people will. There are a ton of sheep but they aren't all as dumb as they appear. I'm hopeful. Bitcoin is going to slowly transform culture and how we organize ourselves. I'm bullish.

It is absurd and its gonna get more absurd. IMO this is good because the reality is that its always been absurd but those at the top were better at hiding it all. The emperor has no clothes. Never did.
We don't need these clowns and its gonna take a long time for a critical mass to learn that lesson.

We don't need these clowns and its gonna take a long time for a critical mass to learn that lesson. I'm more optimistic about that forecast. A generation or less

Things arent better in EU. For example there is practically no leadership, not in government and not in the private sector. It is a special kind of hell
