We were out shopping this morning at the local mall. As we walked past a crypto ATM I thought I'd have a quick look to see what Bitcoin was selling for. I've never seen anyone actually use this machine, but I know these ATM's are a rip off with a premium of around 15-20% (and still requiring KYC!). At the time 1 bitcoin was selling for around 200k AUD. My son also had a look at the screen. As a 3yo he know's a little about bitcoin cause he's heard me talk about it before. But after glancing at the screen for about half a second, another coin caught his attention.
"I want the frog money!"
"Ok, lets go" I said, instantly regretting.
"I need the frog money!"
It was some kind of Pepe coin next to the usual sh$tcoins. I tried to tell him but you can't buy anything with the frog money. Nobody wants the frog money.
He persisted for some time until he realized he would not be getting the frog money and we moved onto another topic.
I just made me think that this was similar to how fast food companies target young kids with a lot of flash and gimmicks.
Long way to go, but I hope he'll be able to see it coming when he's older.

Good anecdote, in my country these ATMs charge around 10-12%, a scam in my opinion too, that's why I don't use them.
