If I had to guess, I'ld say they have arranged to buy from the grid for certain hours of each day, but then will sell the solar allotment back to the grid when the price per kWh they can sell it at is higher than the revenue they would get from mining with it.
How do they operate at night? Are they using batteries or getting power from the grid?
