The spouse of former US National Security Agency employee, Edward Snowden, Lindsay Mills, has submitted an application for Russian citizenship under the standard procedure, Snowden's lawyer Anatoly Kucherena has told TASS.

"As far as I know, she is undergoing the standard process, as everyone who is eligible. She has resided in Russia for more than five years. The relevant documents have been filed according to the normal citizenship acquisition procedure," he said, noting that he was not dealing with the issue personally.
