I've always known the sonnet to be of 14 lines with a specific metre applied in every line. Are you doing some improvisations?

yeah you caught me, I got lazy and didn't do quatrains, but rather a series of couplets. am I allowed this? is that okay?
My iambic pentameter is solid, you'll notice.

I've already noticed. I've seen your work. All good. Also, the sonnets in our times have seen a lot of improvisations from that of Shakespeare and Petrarch.

How about you write a sonnet in free verse? I guess "whoever belligerent" can only understand free verse.
