Good response. Forming relationships through substantive comments is the best way to start, if you don't come in with some name recognition.

Why do my posts often get 0 zaps?

Honestly, I'm not sure. It's hard to tell what people are, or aren't interested in on SN, besides bitcoin. 

I've personally tried to focus on building friendships with people and providing interesting, or entertaining content. Beyond that it's difficult to say. Sometimes I make a post that I think is going to be extremely interesting and nobody zaps it. Other times I post something that I'm sure nobody will care about and it gets zapped.
