The fascists copied the US. This is only a small unimportant thing they copied. They copied MUCH more and US historians ignore many of the items.

The Bellamy salute is a palm-out salute created by James B. Upham as the gesture that was to accompany the Pledge of Allegiance of the United States of America, whose text had been written by Francis Bellamy. It was also known as the "flag salute" during the period when it was used with the Pledge of Allegiance. Bellamy promoted the salute and it came to be associated with his name. This is a nice article about the nazi salute. Not saying you are wrong, I know very little about the topic, moreover, the Bellamy salute is discussed in the article too.

Jacques-Louis David’s painting The Oath of the Horatii (1784) depicts a scene of his own invention in which, before the fateful battle in which two of them will perish, the three brothers Horatii swear an oath to their father that they will kill all the Curiatii or die themselves fighting on behalf of the Roman state.
