I'm thinking about buying a small house or a plot of land in Morocco and living there. The amount I am willing to pay for this would be $10 000 - 30 000. How much might I liquidate into their fiat (MAD) bank account with a month or so without them freezing my account and god only knows what worse things them doing to me. I use robosats and never exceed the amount of 950 euro when selling Bitcoin. I have all my wealth in Bitcoin, no history of income over the last 5 years, no filing tax returns too. I am from the EU, residing in Spain. How has your experience with Morocco been? Can one open a bank account in Morocco without having a residence there?
Don't go too close to the occupied Sahara-territory. Only trouble there. 🏜️

I'm focusing on Western Sahara is is it seems to be undervalued.

In general, Morocco is a safe and welcoming country. If you're considering settling here, I recommend looking into the northern region, especially cities like Tangier (I used to go there a lot). It's a great option due to its proximity to Spain (just 15 km away), since you're from Spain, and the fact that many locals in the northern areas speak Spanish
Purchasing a house in Morocco for $10,000 is unlikely in most cities, especially urban centers. However, it might be possible in smaller towns or rural areas.
Feel free to reach out if you need any assistance once you arrive in Morocco. Best of luck with your plans

I'd love to hear more about - why Morocco?
Also - you might consider posting this question someplace where you'd get more people - like facebook groups, reddit, etc. I'm not a facebook fan, but there's some discussions that only happen there.

I married a Moroccan woman in Spain in 2023. She has overstayed her visa in Spain and we have no prospects of getting her residence in Spain (I am not from Spain but being from the EU I have the right to reside in Spain) . I am looking for a place where both of us can live. Buying a land or a house is meant to help me get residence in Morocco so that I could stay for more than just 90 days.

by far..

I wonder how accurate the statistics are.
I was in Morocco a while back (a LONG while) and saw an incident which showed very blatant and open corruption in the police. Which makes me distrust any stats from there.

despite the bad reputation, i felt very very safe there.. I crossed a lot of the country.
a lot of scammers, a lot of guys hitting on my wife.. And normally you have to shout to scare them, but it works..
Other than that, no problems..

Salvador is a bit too densely populated for me.

Morroco is very nice.. BUT.. I think Bitcoin is still ilegal there.. You can have problems using it.. Please check the newest laws.. But they are not btc friendly. Forigners has problems when paying with btc
last case i heard:
Moroccan courts have upheld an 18-month prison sentence handed down to a 21-year-old French citizen for "fraud" and "illegal use of cryptocurrency". The Casablanca Court of Appeal's judgment against Thomas Clausi was upheld on Tuesday evening, according to his lawyer, Mohamed Aghanaj. Clausi was arrested in 2021 for using Bitcoin to buy a luxury car. Moroccan customs consider the use of cryptocurrency to be an illegal transfer of funds.
Maybe Gibraltar is a more smart choice for you to reside and go for long periods to Morroco as a visitor
