My sister and I just went through a horrible ordeal with our mother and my sister is a nurse practitioner. My sister had to manage and coordinate care. People without a medical practitioner in the family, or the money to hire someone to be in the hospital, don't have a chance. It was the system and administrators. The nurses were overworked, under trained, and not supported by admin. Doctors were well intentioned, but relying on support staff that was stretched too thin and they were oblivious. Most of the nurses were traveling or temp. I watch a young nurse trail another for one shift. athe next night she was on her own and looked like a deer in headlights. She even verbalized to us that she was new and didn't know what she was doing. My sister trained the woman and the type of IV equipment just so fluids and meds would get delivered.
Get and stay healthy folks. You don't want to be sick in this system - even with good insurance.
Staying healthy is the big secret. I think they wiped out too many of the experienced doctors and nurses with the mandatory jabs. Therefore, the new people are relatively unexperienced and can’t help so much. It is a shame.
