With a pathological liar, a lot of questions might seem or behave like "gotcha questions". In this case, it says a lot more about Faketoshi than it does about the questioner.
It is true that a pathological liar and fraud will create more of these situations.
However, although in different number, anyone will say something contradictory to something they've said in the past.
That's what makes these type of rhetoric favorable to confirmation bias and group think.
The questioner would be better off (imo) by actually arguing with Faketoshi's reasoning instead of calling him out on what someone he pretends to be said over 10 years ago.
