Its virtue signaling. ESG is similar but the only reason anyone knows or cares about ESG is because of Blackrock. So even if they are trying right-wing ESG it isn't even close to the same thing.
Its more akin to Target signaling they are pro LGBTQIA+ in their ads and stores.

Since real transactions would have had passed over to make this, I’d say it’s slightly more akin to target hiring some LGBTQIA+ over a qualified candidate in order to hit a quota, which I see as a greater problem. Actually, it’s literally even more like target preferring certain customers for this purpose.

Good analogy. I mean, I don't care in either case. Do what you will with you time, talent, and treasure. The people/market will determine what they do next in response.
On the technical side I think its cool. Every other side its dumb IMO.
