Dammit. Was a huge fan from back when I was reading baseball memoirs as a kid (his was called The Catcher in the Wry), and then from Mr. Belvedere. Was always a delight to watch (except maybe on the baseball field) or listen to.
What a great baseball character. I remember going to a ball game at the old Milwaukee County Stadium back in late 1970s or early 1980s. There was a section in the bleachers that drunk young guys named Uecker's Pukers. They had a handmade sign that said "We're not leavin til we're heavin." They were true to their word.
