Wait, are there more women than men to proportionally have more men married than women? Or are all the 40+ year cougars hooking up with men between 18-39? Or are the number of policules becoming statistically significant?~~
I'm sure there is an obvious explanation i am missing :)

In the average hetero relationship the male partner is a few years older. Therefore in the youngest age bracket there are more single men than women.
You also see the corresponding effect in the 40+ brackets were more women are single.
