Here's another feature to consider.
When I stack (earn) sats from posts and comments on SN, I would like to see those sats automatically redistributed to other contributors in some way. I'm happy topping up my wallet to pay for my activities (posts, comments, upvotes, etc.) but I would love to see those funds that are earned on SN re-circulating. I could do that manually, but I'ld like to see some way I can configure my account where this would be done in an automated fashion.
What do you think of this idea?
Let's say today I earned (stacked) 50 sats. At the end of the day, I'ld like to see those 50 sats I earned get re-distributed automatically to other contributors. Maybe this distribution amount of 50 sats goes into a pot and that pot gets divided evenly to anyone who posted a comment that day. Or evenly to any new posts for that day, ..., or maybe some allocation that is proportionate (posts with a higher number of upvotes gets a greater share of this daily redistribution pot).
It doesn't need to be complicated ... I simply mark a configuration setting like "auto-redistribute stacked earnings?" or something like that. Then any time I stack (earn) sats .... instead of those going into my wallet balance, they go into the "auto-redistribution' pot.
Again, this would (should) be totally voluntary -- i.e., opt-in rather than the default.
But I think if this were implemented it would result in an increase the financial reward (quantity of sats stacked) for those who contribute content (posts, and/or comments) here on SN -- a feature that is the primary thing that differentiates SN from the numerous other social media (HackerNews, Reddit, etc.).
We plan to eventually have the site’s revenue be distributed. Perhaps after that’s implemented we can allow users to contribute to it.

🤔
If the site's revenue gets redistributed, what then will keep the lights on (and AWS charges)?

Not all of the revenue in perpetuity! Hopefully enough to make a difference for the best users and enough to keep us alive.

Subsidizing growth, until it it is sustainable organically. Awesome! Looking forward to that.

Exactly! Plus good users are doing work + paying on here. It makes sense that we give as much as we can back to them.

I see another request, but for a different way to contribute, in this SN item:
