I have mixed feelings about the glp-1 agonists. On one hand, I don't think we fully understand the long term side effects, but on the other hand, there are people who genuinely can not control their food addiction.

I think, for the time being, that people should only take them as a last resort.

Lowering societal time preference -> more societal focus on future consequences -> less demand for unhealthy food -> generally lower obesity rates AND generally higher levels of self-control in the population -> weight loss drug market shrinks.
