pull down to refresh

My wife looks at me with scorn for many reasons, but lately it's been about my narrowing taste in books. She says all I read about is bitcoin and money, and it does seem that way. Maybe it's a phase.
I just bought a copy of The Bushido Of Bitcoin, by Aleksandar Svetski. I intend to crack it open once I'm done re- reading The Genesis Book by Aaron Van Wirdum. I'm old and have a poor memory, so I wanted to read it again. I also really enjoy this book. Before that, I read Resistance Money , which was so damn good that I expect to read that twice too, after I finish Bushido. Since I read in bed, before falling asleep after 10 or 15 minutes with my glasses shoved into the straps of my CPAP mask, these books might see me through 2025.
I hope I can pick up the pace, because Larry Lepard's book, The Big Print is now available for pre order, and Nik Bhatia has a new book coming out soon. I'm sure @denlillaapan will give us his assessment of them all. I remember reading his review of Svetzki's book, but I can't find it now.
We are lucky to have this wealth of reading material, no matter what my wife says.

Looks like you have some wonderful books on your list!
reply
Yep. I can't wait.

My review of Svetski is in the latest Bitcoin Magazine Print issue, I believe.
As for Nik Bhatia... Might be a secret, I dunno, but I'm the editor and have been contributing some research as well. ( So I'm gonna say I'm pleeeenty familiar with it!)
reply
I had a hunch:)
reply
Maybe a behind-the-scenes, or what Nik is like working with, or the funniest typo in the original manuscript

I'm just getting ready, today in fact, to launch my book. It's not about money and crypto, but it is pretty nerdy. remind me with a reply if you want to see the link. when i'm ready.
reply
Absolutely! Can you tell us more about it?
reply
Here is the book I was telling you about. There is a lot of info on the webiste to read. i keep it fun. http://ycr.info.
reply
OK, but i don't think i will have it available for sat purchase today as i am having trouble with the "new and improved" alby hub[cough]. i will have to give you the link for a normal purchase when it's propagated.
reply
and anything you can do to share and get it in front of people will be appreciated.
reply
Thanks! I'm interested to know what you mean about the Alby Hub changes. Is this recent? What changes were made?

It's this new system they have but i have not been able to get it to function for over a month. it really sucks. i had ll kinds of plans to do things. i don't even know if there are alternatives.

There are so many people here that can help. @DarthCoin has written guides. @Alby will appear to answer questions sometimes. I find their customer support to be pretty good.

it's acting crazy. i can log in using my passkey on one browser, but this browser says i am using the wrong passkey. on that browser i can connect to sites like this one, but on the one that accepts my passkey, i cannot use sites like this one. it's so crazy. cool new upgrades bro. lol

Hey @herschel we can understand these all hubs, extensions, getalbys might be a bit confusing - but after small effort it gives you a lot of versatility and sovereignty.
Looks like you have problems using the Alby Extension to log in here? Make sure you use the same keys (nostr or master), and you need to copypaste them manually between browsers inside the extension.
Come over to our onboardings, it's the easiest way to grasp everything around! https://cal.com/getalby/alby-hub-onboarding

what i want to do is uninstall it from terminal and reinstall it with a different browser open. i have had no luck figuring out how to do it. the usual method for uninstalling on linux does not work, it cannot find it. i have been going through it with alby support for a while and i think they are taking a break from me for the weekend. the hub runs, but it does not connect. thank you.

Alright, if you're already in touch with our support, let's keep it there. We're small team, but will take care of you!
Sorry for the inconvenience, always happy to hear feedback :)
I am really looking forward to Larry Lepard's book. I like bitcoin adjacent books more than bitcoin centric books.

Me? I like 'em both
