A completely different example that should ring true is the "too big to fail". Bailouts of the banks, and airlines have left us with garbage. The free market has much in common with a wild fire. Nature clears out brush and dead growth making the way for new life. Life that is stronger. This is not allowed to happen in some industries due to the state and its sociopaths in positions of power.
The state and its sociopaths think nothing of making promises they are not able to keep. Those that believe the state suffer the most. I often wonder if a significant number of people will ever understand this other than the small number of free market people, libertarians, and anarcho-capitalists.
The problem is that statists sound caring and compassionate. In fact they for the most part are just sociopaths seeking power and approval from the masses to pad their pockets and gain more power.
That's harsh but true.
